In 2020 Janice from FRIENDS feels like a person you would love.

In these testing times let’s get some new perspective on Janice.

It’s the year 2020, the year supposed to be filled with flying cars, living on Mars and unlimited entertainment. Instead what you got is a global pandemic, a great recession, foolish politicians who provide you with unlimited entertainment.

As the quarantine life sent the world to a Binging spree and I did a re-watch marathon of my favorite sitcom of all time “Friends”. And during my millionth time of watching the show, I felt that the supposedly annoying Janice didn’t annoy me anymore. In fact, she felt like someone who I wish I knew.

I shut my laptop and thought for a while as I was going to sleep. The Chandler fan in me wanted to know the reason behind this new perspective in my head. Then I realized in today’s day and world friendships change faster than a six-year-olds letter to Santa or Donald Trump’s status on Coronavirus. In this unstable world, a person like a Janice feels like Gold.

If you pay attention Janice was a really thoughtful person. She surprised Chandler by gifting him his favourite socks, made a mixtape for Valentine’s Day, Even went to see him off at the airport when he was leaving for his pretend trip to Yemen. She was constantly doing sweet things for Chandler even though he dumped and got back with her whenever he felt like.

Janice tried to mingle with everyone in the group. When Chandler and she were dating in season 3 she never tried to keep her man exclusive and even tried to blend in the group. When she found out Joey hated her, she didn’t bad mouth him or try to ruin his and Chandler’s friendship, she had a sense of humour about it and tried to fix it. Even though “Joey and Janice’s Day of Fun!” didn’t change Joey’s feelings, but at least she tried to mend things and didn’t let it come between her and Chandler.

If you are constantly told you are annoying you would drown in your own self-doubt. Janice was a strong confident person despite no one else thinking she was anything but awful.

So she has annoying laughter and a Satin Island carefree attitude but underneath it all She’s fun! She’s caring! She cooks pancakes and makes up cute songs. If the same is there in any other girl you like you would hypocritically sweep it under the carpet and call her a “quirky” and adorable personality.

In this Instagram ruled fake world, I would cherish a friendship with annoying but loving Janice because no one ever told me that the my life is gonna be this way!
